Frequently asked questions
Answers to what most people want to know before reaching out. Don't see your question here — just ask on the contact page.
Submit the short form on the booking page and you'll pick a time on the spot for a free 15-minute phone consultation. There's no paperwork required beforehand, and no obligation to continue afterward — it's simply a chance to talk through what's going on and see if we're a good fit.
Most major insurance is accepted, including Aetna, Anthem, Blue Cross, Blue Shield, BlueCross and BlueShield, Cigna and Evernorth, Moda Health, Providence, and Regence. If you don't see your plan listed, reach out — I can often still help you figure out coverage or a superbill for out-of-network reimbursement.
Cash-pay sessions are a flat $135 — one rate for every client, no sliding scale or tiers to sort through. Payment is handled through a card on file via SimplePractice.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is one of the most researched treatments for trauma and PTSD. My approach is built primarily on EMDR, and I also draw on cognitive-behavioral and trauma-focused frameworks where they're useful for a particular concern — sessions are tailored to what you actually need, not a fixed script.
Sessions are 50 minutes, weekly, held over secure telehealth video through SimplePractice — a HIPAA-compliant platform. A confidential email is sent straight to your inbox to connect you at session time, so there's no waiting room and no risk of running into anyone from work.
I served as an Army Combat Medic in the infantry. That experience shapes how I show up in the room, but I try not to assume my story maps onto yours — every job and every person's experience is different. What I can offer is a clinician who has lived under sustained pressure and takes the culture of high-stakes work seriously.
I hold an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Bushnell University (2023), am a National Certified Counselor through the National Board for Certified Counselors (2024), and am trained in EMDR through an EMDRIA-approved course. I practice as a Professional Counselor Associate in the State of Oregon (R8947), under the supervision of Scott Waters, LPC (C4911) and Mindi Barta, LPC (C3787) — every case I carry is discussed in ongoing supervision.
Yes — research consistently shows telehealth therapy, including EMDR delivered over video, is as effective as in-person sessions for most people. It also removes the barrier of a waiting room, which matters for clients who value privacy, including many first responders and veterans.
That's exactly what the free consultation is for. There's no pressure to continue afterward, and no paperwork required just to have that first conversation.
This website and any form on it are not monitored for emergencies. If you are in crisis or having thoughts of suicide, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or call 911.
